There are two styles of V-type flat raceway tapered roller thrust bearings available: TTVF (standard) and TTVS (self-aligning). This type of bearing combines the advantages of conical thrust bearings and cylindrical roller bearings, and can provide the highest possible load capacity of any thrust bearing of this size.

TTVF (Standard)

The TTVF type bearing was originally developed for the thrust compression device of metallurgical rolling mills, and it is common for thrust loads exceeding one million pounds in this application. This type of bearing can provide the highest possible load-bearing capacity of thrust bearings, and its design includes a flat washer and a tapered raceway washer that matches the rollers.

TTVS (Self Adjusting Heart)

TTVS type bearings, like TTVF type bearings, also use the same basic roller and raceway design, except that the bottom washer is two-piece, allowing self centering under initial eccentricity conditions.
